Our rhino here is a super hero, who thinks he can scale up any walls and jump over tall buildings. He ignores the fact that he is heavy and bulky. But where there’s a will, there’s a way. Right? So our rhino wants you to build these buildings so that he may play around with them and do good works within the city. No one can resist this cute rhino, so better get ready for the game.
Rhino Hero is a simple game of dexterity. The goal is to construct a card tower, which the rhino would then attempt to scale. Players can either construct the tower or move the rhino in their turn. The winner would be the person who has played all their cards. Alternatively, a player can also win by having the least cards in hand when another player knocks over the tower. Yes, that can happen!
Rhino Hero first came out in 2011 and was released by HABA. The designers, Scott Frisco and Steven Strumpf made sure that the appeal factor was high for children. Illustrator Thies Schwarz did a great job with the cards, and the artwork is bright, colourful, cheery, and gorgeous, capable of captivating children’s interest right away. The game comes with 31 action cards, 1 starting card, 28 walls, and of course, our rhino hero token.
The game can be played by 2 – 4 players and the game play lasts for about 10 – 15 minutes. As such, it is a delightful little game that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. Rhino Hero is a great family game and can also be used as a filler game at a longer games session. However, unlike most other children’s games or filler games, this one requires a certain minimum level of strategic play, which ups the interest factor considerably. So what are you waiting for – go and get your own super hero rhino!
